Pariah

Rosalind is an actress and writer. She co-produces THE COMEDY PROJECT at Soho theatre, a showcase for comedy writing. BARNSTORMERS (a sitcom) was showcased there & Talkback picked it up. They also liked THREE WRITERS WALK INTO A FOREST, 6 playlets inspired by fairy tales, which I produced in 2015 at Theatre 503. Talkback also picked up my new radio series JUDGEMENT DAY. My two-hander SYMPATHY PAINS ran as part of The Park Theatre’s opening season in 2013. My solo shows are JUBILATE! (Times Critics’ Choice Pleasance Edinburgh) and LOL, about internet dating. In 2018 I staged my two hander DAMAGED GOODS at the King’s Head Theatre, in London . As an actress I’ve recently been in EASTENDERS (2 eps)  and new HBO series THE NEVERS dir. Joss Whedon.

Amy Connery

Scissor Sisters

Amy attended Exeter University where she studied Drama and was actively involved in performing and directing within her course and the drama society. After graduating, Amy featured in numerous short films with Maple Town productions. She also completed a short course with the National Youth Theatre in 2013 and worked with the Battersea Arts Centre to devise and create a performance as part of their Homegrown programme. Following that she has worked locally directing and performing with the Hertford Players, St Albans Abbey Theatre and St Albans company OVO. This will be Amy’s writing debut and she is very excited to see her written work come to life! 

Carol Allen

Juvenation

Carol Carol trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, became a freelance writer and broadcaster & was a presenter, reporter and producer for LBC radio in London, later becoming the station’s specialist in cinema and theatre. After leaving LBC, while continuing to write and broadcast, including producing several series for BBC Radio as an independent producer, she also turned to writing and directing theatre and film. She started writing screenplays with co-writer the late Peter Thornton and one of their scripts, FLASHBACK, won a Radio Times award.  As a writer/director she has completed two half hour drama features, MISS THREADGOLD and WITH MARJORIE GONE plus some shorter shorts. Carol has written, directed and devised many shows with her drama class of elders at the New Horizons centre In Chelsea.  Last year Carol created a charity, Cat’s Whiskers Community Arts, to further develop her drama work with elders in the community. 

Alan Diment

When This Kiss Is Over

Alan was born in Poole, Dorset before spending twenty years in London.  After a variety of disappointing jobs he took a course in Film Journalism at the British Film Institute and spent ten years contributing articles to magazines and websites.  Alan only recently turned to writing fiction with his first short story appearing in the 2018 anthology Vegan Tales.  He has had two short plays performed – The Last Beacon at the Live Theatre, Newcastle in 2018 and Moderation at the Westovian Theatre, South Shields in 2019.  He now lives in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne with his partner and their two rescue ferrets.

Laurel Green

Keeping Mum

Laurel Green was born and grew up in Australia, moving to London fifteen years ago.   She studied English and Law at university and, upon graduation, chose the safer path that would pay the bills, becoming a lawyer, followed by a career in the corporate world.  A redundancy, an unfulfilled ambition and a little more confidence offered a second chance to pursue her dream job of being a playwright.  Laurel is now writing plays in earnest and loving every minute. “Keeping Mum” is her first piece to be performed on stage. She is beyond thrilled and not just a little nervous.

Lee started out as an actor touring the length and breadth of the UK in Theatre-in -Education Roadshows. The issues addressed in the plays that he toured whetted his appetite to write his own material, initially for TiE tours, but leading to a number of commissions for local arts company Codswallop CIC. In 2019 he wrote a piece that premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe for Falling Stars Theatre Company. His interest now is telling compelling stories that address issues facing us in the world we live in today – holding up a mirror, making a record, and capturing the essence of life in the 21^st Century.

Peter Rae

Forum

Peter Rae is an actor and writer. Most notably as a performer he played the eponymous in Don Juan at Hoxton Hall, Cecil Beaton at Sadler’s Wells and Magwitch in Great Expectations, at the Playground Theatre. As a writer he created and writes “hilarious” (his words) popular comedy YouTube comedy, ‘The Self-Tapers’ and new Mystery-Thriller web series ‘Gentrification’, both with his actress n’ writer wife. They currently have a number of comedy pilots in development with a major production company. But then, who doesn’t?

Jonathan Skinner

After You

Jonathan is a London-based playwright and screenwriter whose short and one-act plays have enjoyed productions on the London fringe, throughout the UK, and in New York, Los Angeles and Sydney.  His one-act play INDIGNITAS was showcased at The Criterion (West End). Jonathan is the winner of the 2020 Transition Stage Company’s playwriting competition at the Birmingham Hippodrome and is a finalist in the Radius Theatre, and Hebden Bridge Little Theatre playwriting competitions. Previous awards include the Paul Darby Award for Dramatists and the Sterts One-Act Play Competition.  Shortlisted for the 2017 Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing; British Theatre Challenge (Blue Sky Theatre); Flux Theatre’s Emerge Night #3.  Longlisted for The Papatango New Writing Prize in 2017. Jonathan has also written showcase material for Drama Studio London. As a screenwriter, Jonathan has written short films for ArtsEd and other independent film producers. He was a finalist in the Euroscript Screen Story Competition winning a special commendation from the judges.

Stephen Tomas

Tenebrae

Stephen Tomas is the pen name of actor and director Stephen Cunningham. He is the author of Lossless, Fugue, Hold Off the Earth (an adaptation of Hamlet) – all recently produced by OVO – and Dance of Death (a new version of August Strindberg’s The Dance of Death, Part 1). As an actor, Stephen recently originated the role of the Time Traveller in Dyad Productions’ The Time Machine (Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017 and UK/international tour 2018–19). He composes music as Nearly a Chaos, and has contributed original music and sound design to a number of stage productions.
